Physiotherapy As A Course For Students

BPT or Bachelors of Physiotherapy is a four-year undergraduate course which deals with the science of movement and help people overcome diseases related to movement. The course teaches its students to help patients increase, maintain and restore their physical mobility, function and strength. This science makes use of electrotherapy, exercise prescription and shockwave mobility to treat chronic conditions of the bones and soft tissues.

Eligibility

Students who have completed their 10+2 in science stream are eligible to apply for Physiotherapy course. The students must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their main subjects to pursue this course. An aggregate of 50% marks is essential to get admission in this course. Some universities also conduct entrance examinations for the students to get qualified to pursue this course. The entrance examinations include, CET, JIPMER All India Entrance Test, Guru Govind Indraprastha University Physiotherapy Entrance Exam, etc.

Required Skillsets

BPT Course demands its aspirants to have sound clinical knowledge and expertise to treat patients or their clients. It is preferable for aspirants to have a high level of empathy towards their client and their ailments and sufferings. They also need to be reassuring while explaining the treatment process to their patients before applying it on them.
