CPMS College & School of Nursing was established in the year 2006 as a professional institution under the banner of Purbanchal Educational Welfare Society. The institute is offering M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing both Basic and Post Basic under Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences with an annual intake of 80 B.Sc. Nursing, 60 Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and 20 M.Sc. Nursing. The college is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. CPMS School of Nursing is approved by Indian Nursing Council and Assam Nurses Midwives and Health Visitor’s Council. The School imparts 3 years GNM and 2 years ANM course with annual intake of 60 and 40 respectively. Nursing is a service oriented job combined with a sense of compassion and commitment. To be called a Nurse is an honour because we work to save lives. Nursing have very good and wide career options. With rapid advancement in Science and Technology, the scope of Nursing is increasing to its height and ever since the time of its inception. CPMS College & School of Nursing is preparing its students to reach this height by providing quality education. The institute always emphasizes on giving opportunities, proper guidance and facilities for effective learning of the students. The institute has different well equipped laboratories with latest teaching aids and instruments for students to improve their skills on nursing. The institute has a central library which is well equipped with text books and reference books of renowned authors, with current editions of national and international journals. The students are also involved in different teaching learning sessions such as Seminars/Workshops/ CNE programmes both State level and National level/Health camps, etc. every year for the development and enhancement of knowledge of themselves as well as the community for the better improvement in the health services. A total of 2 batches of M.Sc. Nursing, 11 batches of B.Sc. Nursing and 6 batches of Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, 12 batches of GNM and 13 batches of ANM students had successfully completed their course from our institution and they all are well established and pursuing their bright careers in different State and National level organizations. The institution also provide in-campus placement to help the students choose their future in various reputed organizations. I feel proud to know that many students are being selected and earning huge accolades in top level organizations. The institute has qualified, competent, highly motivated and experienced teaching faculty as per Indian Nursing Council norms and guidelines. There is also provision of decent hostel accommodation with good, clean hygienic facilities, safe drinking water, well lighted and ventilated rooms, attached bathroom and CCTV camera in all hostels for safety and security purpose.
