Nursing Education Workshop

Our Nursing Education Workshop was a resounding success!
Hosted at CPMS College of Nursing, this event aimed to enhance the teaching skills of faculty and clinical instructors. With 108 participants from across Assam, we focused on developing learning objectives, creating effective teaching environments, facilitating group learning, assessing knowledge and skills, and managing clinical practice.
Highlights included sessions from:
- Ms. Nabanika Kalita on developing learning plans and educational objectives.
- Ms. Mohuwa Basak on managing clinical practice and assessing knowledge and skills.
- Ms. Dropoti Thapa on facilitating diverse learning skills with various educational tools.
The workshop featured Q&A segments, interactive activities, and concluded with a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem. Participants left inspired and equipped with new skills, making this event a tremendous success!

10th International Day of Yoga at PEWS

Today, we celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga with a rejuvenating yoga session led by the esteemed Ms. Laxmi Devi, appointed by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.
Our students and staff came together to embrace the spirit of yoga, focusing on holistic well-being and mindfulness. It was a revitalizing experience that highlighted the importance of physical and mental health.
Gratitude to Srimanta Sankaradeva University for this wonderful initiative and to Ms. Laxmi Devi for guiding us through a transformative session.

PEWS Family Celebrated World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, a crucial occasion emphasizing the importance of preserving and protecting our natural environment, PEWS Group of Institutions took significant strides by organizing a tree-plantation event.
This day serves as a global reminder of our collective responsibility towards sustainable practices and the urgent need to combat environmental degradation.
The event was spearheaded by our Vice President, Mr. Vipin Singh, and saw the active participation of three esteemed principals: Prof. Dr. Pallabi Goswami of College of Physiotherapy and Medical Sciences; Prof. Dr. Bibi Bordoloi of CPMS College & School of Nursing; and Mrs. Thounaojam Salvia Devi of PEWS College of Paramedical Sciences.

Integrating Yoga: Fostering Holistic Well-being at CPMS College of Nursing & CPMS School of Nursing

Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting an individual's immune system. Yoga Session for all students from the Department of Nursing has been inititated in full swing as one of the Best Practice Initiative at CPMS College of Nursing & CPMS School of Nursing since the month of May 2024 . This initiative was started with the following objectives -


 To improve physical fitness, mental ability, and emotional stability of the students.
 To help students grow in self-discipline and self-control.
 To make students understand linkages between physical, mental, and emotional health and understand significance of spiritual values in human life.
 To improve the power of concentration, comprehension, and mental aptitude.
 To reduce stress and anxiety in the life of students due to the challenges faced by them and be aware of its therapeutic advantages.

Yoga sessions are conducted every Monday for 3 hours at the college premise. Lead Yoga Trainer, Ms. Purobi Devi who holds Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy leads the students and faculties for warm up exercises & performing sitting and standing asana simultaneously explaining the importance of each postures.

Workshop On Nursing Care of Patients Undergoing Cardiothoracic Surgery

The MSc Nursing 1st and 2nd Year students from the Medical-Surgical Nursing Department of PEWS recently organized an insightful and engaging workshop cum exhibition on the nursing care of patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery. Our Post BSc 1st Year students had the opportunity to participate as delegates, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and knowledge.
This event showcased the latest advancements and best practices in cardiothoracic nursing care, providing our students with a unique platform to enhance their skills and broaden their professional horizons. We are immensely proud of the dedication and hard work demonstrated by all participants and organizers.

It began with an inauguration by the principal and faculty members, setting the tone for a day of reflection and appreciation.

A 2-day Hands-on program on 'basic histopathological techniques' was successfully conducted by the Department of MLT, PEWS College of Paramedical Sciences on March 20th and 21st, 2024.

A 2-day Hands-on program on 'basic histopathological techniques' was successfully conducted by the Department of MLT, PEWS College of Paramedical Sciences on March 20th and 21st, 2024.
Mrs. Thounaojam Salvia Devi, the Principal of PEWS College of Paramedical Sciences, served as the Chairperson, while Mr. Jyotishman Baruah, Tutor from PEWS College of Paramedical Sciences, acted as the Convenor. Dr. Akshay Chandra Deka, a Professor at the Regional College of Health Sciences, and Mr. Pranjal Das, a Demonstrator at the same institution, participated as Guest Trainers.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Akshay Chandra Deka as the Resource person, Mr. Pranjal Das as the Invited Trainer, Mrs. Th. Salvia Devi, the Principal of PEWS College of Paramedical Sciences, Dr. PC Deka, the Director of Administration, and Dr. NN Sharma, Senior Faculty member from the PEWS Group of Institutions.
The workshop witnessed significant success, drawing faculty members and students from over 10 different colleges and universities, including NEF College of Health Sciences, Dispur Paramedical and Nursing Institute, NEPNI Group of Institutions, Regional College of Paramedical Health Sciences (RIPT), Royal Global University, Institute of Paramedical and Management Technology, Regional College of Health Sciences (RCHS), and GEA National College. Additionally, students from our MLT program actively participated in the two-day hands-on session.
