Day 2 of World Physiotherapy Day at PEWS

Day 2 of World Physiotherapy Day at #PEWS was a true learning experience. We had the privilege of listening to experts like Prof. Dr. Anil Kr. Mahanta, Retd. Prof. & HOD, Dept. of Orthopedics, GMCH; and Dr. D.K. Talukadar Retd. Physiotherapists, OIL, Duliajaan, Currently President- lAP Assan, who shared their valuable insights. Our students also shone bright, diving into topics like Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Cryoultrasound.

Day 1 of World Physiotherapy Day celebration at the #PEWSCampus was a fantastic start. Teacher's Day Celebration at PEWS

A wonderful celebration was organized on the occasion of Teacher's Day by students of CPMS College and School of Nursing to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary efforts & dedication put forth by all our teachers. The celebration began with a heartwarming Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing the enlightenment and wisdom that our teachers bring into our lives, followed by words of wisdom from Sir Mr. Ram Murti Sharma, Chairman PEWS Group of Institutions, Prof (Dr.)Bibi Bordoloi, Principal CPMS College and School of Nursing and Dr. P.C. Deka - Director Administration, PEWS Group of Institutions. Recognizing the tireless efforts, all teachers were felicitated by Mr. Umesh Nath, Branch Sales Manager SBI Life Insurance. As a small gesture to express our deep gratitude tokens of love were presented by students. To add color and joy to the day, our students showcased their talents through dance and song performances, along with engaging recreational activities.

Glimpses from the Eastern India Workshop organised at the #PEWSCampus on 26th August 2023

CPMS College of Nursing, in collaboration with knowledge partner Nursing Research Society of India (NRSI), hosted an enriching workshop on "Imbibe AI(Artificial knowledge) to empower nursing professionals for future challenges".
The event was grace by Eminent Speaker Dr.Debanga Neog, Assistant Professor, Mehta School of Family and Data Sciences, IIT Guwahati; Dr. Atowar Ul Islam Associate Professor, Dept of Computer Sciences, USTM, Meghalaya; Lt.Col (Dr) Lata Mandal (retd) Ph.D Principal Consultant Guest: Nursing research Consultant Kolkata and Prof.(Dr) Gitumoni Konwar president (NRSI) Eastern Zone of India.
The event was a huge success as esteemed dignitaries and enthusiastic participants from every nursing college across the North Eastern Regions came together to be a part of this event.

Pews Nursing Students Successfully Placed at Apollo Hospitals Campus Placement Drive

We are thrilled to share that the recent campus placement drive conducted by Apollo Hospitals at PEWS for B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, and GNM final year students was a resounding success! The placement drive was held on 17th August 2023 at the #PEWSCampus. A total of 22 of our nursing students have secured lucrative job offers. We are immensely proud of our students for their exceptional hard work, dedication, and commitment. They have showcased their exceptional skills and demonstrated their ability to excel in their chosen field. We believe that they will go on to make a significant impact in their new roles and contribute greatly to the healthcare industry. Special thanks to Apollo Hospitals for giving our students this incredible opportunity. Congratulations once again to all the students who have been placed. Draped in the vibrant hues of patriotism, #PEWSfamily came alive on Independence Day as we honored the legacy of our beloved nation. Our campus echoed with the resounding chants of the national anthem, filling hearts with pride and unity. Students, staff, faculty, and other dignitaries of PEWS joined hands to honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The air was thick with enthusiasm as we unfurled the #NationalFlag, symbolizing our diverse and dynamic nation.

Awareness Programme on School health by BSc Nursing 4th year students

The BSc Nursing 4th year students of CPMS College of Nursing conducted a school health programme at Fatashil Ganeshpara Primary School Assamese and Boro Medium on Saturday,12th August, where students were demonstrated and received health instruction on personal hygiene, food hygiene, conjunctivitis, home accident and burn prevention, and handwashing techniques. Following this, a role-play on "Good and Bad Touch" was also performed under the direction of Jyoti Pegu Maam.

The physiotherapy department of PEWS attended the first-ever two-day national conference on August 4 and 5

The physiotherapy department of PEWS, with 32 students, the Principal of CPMS, Dr. Pallabi Goswami (PT), and faculty members Dr. Sukanya Baruah (PT) and Dr. Rohit Sharma (PT), attended the first-ever two-day national conference on August 4 and 5, organised by the IAPWC at the Constitution Club, Delhi, in the presence of notable guests such as Prof. Dr. Michael Landry (PT), president of the World Confederation of Physiotherapists, and various other delegates from across the country.
The students took part in a range of activities, including logo and poster presentations, paper presentations, and cultural events. The group excelled in the cultural competition and brought national-level accolades to the PEWS institution. Additionally, the IAPWC recognized Dr. Pallabi Goswami (PT), who also serves as State co-ordinator of IAP women cell for the state of Assam, for her noteworthy contributions to the field of physiotherapy in the region.

PB B. Sc 1st yr Nursing Students attended a Event on the occasion of "World Breastfeeding Week" at the Railway Hospital.

Today, Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing 1st-year students of PEWS College of Nursing participate in an awareness event at the Railway Hospital on the occasion of "World Breastfeeding Week". The program was graced by many intellectual individuals. Together, they engaged in meaningful discussions, exchanging valuable insights and experiences. Our students of Post Basic BSC Nursing 1st-year beautifully portrayed the challenges faced by working parents through an engaging role play on the theme "breastfeeding and working parents". As we mark "World Breastfeeding Week", let us all pledge to support breastfeeding and working parents to create a brighter and healthier future for all our little ones.
